Heart failure and obesity are key factors in human health. Reduction of saturated fatty acids reduces LDL cholesterol. A good balance of omega 6 / omega 3 fatty acids results in a better blood supply to vital organs, better immune systems and brain function and less heart failure.

Initiated by ICGV and an integral consortium, Hemke Nutri Consult is managing a project aiming to produce pork with healthy fatty acids features. This is achieved by adapting the feed. The result is a claim of “cholesterol-neutral pork”. The sensory properties of the meat remain superior.
